Air New Zealand A320 going around

Here's a video of an Air New Zealand A320 going around from short final approach. The weather has been a bit dodgy all day, although looking at other aircraft today, it appears to have calmed a little from a couple of hours ago.

Enjoy!

It seemed once they applied power the plane settled. Did they have another attempt or did they head somewhere else?

Hi Euan,

I guess a couple of points that are not necessarily obvious from the video.

There was a westerly wind [from the left from the pilot's point of view], so a bit of left wing down is to be expected.

The aircraft was crabbing into wind during the approach.

I guess then when power was applied, they levelled the wings and straightened up a little, followed by the climb.

The aircraft arrived back at WN about 15 minutes later.
